Our Mission

ABOUT US

DEFY THE PAST. EQUIP YOUR FUTURE.

Dire Design Haus is a Montana-based Design Consulting Studio and Adventure Gear Company rooted in purposeful design, environmental responsibility, and creative problem-solving. We believe that the products we create—and how we create them—should reflect the world we want to live in.

Founded by Brittany Riner, DIRE began with a simple but powerful idea: that design should serve a greater purpose. After three years of research, development, and sourcing sustainable materials, we launched our flagship product—the DRIKON™ Backpack. Built to endure the elements and reduce impact, each pack diverts 20 plastic bottles from waterways and helps restore U.S. forests through our partnership with the National Forest Foundation’s Sapling Program.

But we don’t stop at gear.

Through our consulting work, we support action sports and lifestyle brands—both emerging and established—in integrating sustainability into their core. We help teams reduce waste, improve product-market fit, and build goods that stand out not just in stores, but in the values they represent.

At our core, Dire is about more than design—it’s about direction. Whether we’re creating gear or guiding a brand, our decisions are grounded in ethics, transparency, and a deep respect for the landscapes that inspire us.

Because when you lead with purpose, the impact reaches far beyond the product.

We’re not just designing backpacks—we’re helping design futures. Ones filled with adventure, resilience, and a better way forward.

Proudly Recognized for Ethical, Sustainable Business.

DIRE Design Haus Wins the 2025 BBB Spark Award for Entrepreneurship

Built Different. Recognized for It.

We’re honored to announce that DIRE Design Haus has been named the 2025 Better Business Bureau Spark Award Winner for Entrepreneurship in Montana.

The BBB Spark Awards recognize emerging businesses and young entrepreneurs who lead with integrity, purpose, and a commitment to building trust from day one. For us, that means doing things the right way—even when no one’s watching. It means designing bold, functional products with sustainability in mind, treating our partners and customers like family, and holding ourselves to the same standard of excellence we expect from the gear we build.

Winning the Spark Award isn’t just an accolade—it’s validation that ethics and entrepreneurship can coexist powerfully. It represents every late night spent perfecting the details, every challenge turned into opportunity, and every decision made with transparency and integrity at its core.

From concept to creation, DIRE was built to last—just like the relationships and reputation we’re proud to forge along the way.

One Pack = One Tree Planted.

Through the National Forest Foundation’s Sapling Program, Dire Design Haus plants one tree for every pack made. Together, we’re helping restore U.S. National Forests and ensure the wild places we explore today thrive for generations to come.
